The story of Steppin’ Birkenstock shoes begins like any other tale of altruistic pedestrianism. When I was 18 years old I underwent foot surgery. Naturally, finding a post operative shoe that would provide me with support and comfort became a high priority. Ultimately, to my satisfaction, my quest led me to discover Birkenstock Arizona Sandals.  It was love upon first fitting!  

As with any other relationship, time went on and I got to know more about my sandals.  I came to realize I had been fitted incorrectly at the store where we met. It was difficult for me to fathom that life with my Birkenstock Arizona Sandals could have been any more fulfilling. Despite this minor setback I felt that I had had excellent results and that an incorrect fitting did not do my Birkenstock Arizona Sandals justice.  Something had to be done. So I decided to take matters into my own feet and open up a store of my own to spread the Birkenstock gospel to others in search of some spiritual heeling. And so the real journey began and I found my calling.

From the beginning, our mission at Steppin’ Birkenstock Shoes has been to provide all of our patrons with the best in foot health technology. For starters, I felt a strong need to go back to the basics like ensuring that everyone was fitted correctly. I then decided to educate myself on such common foot ailments as Plantar Fasicitis, Heel Spurs, and Morton Neuromas. It is my belief that customers appreciate the benefit of being fitted correctly and knowing all of their options. In the end, we feel that finding the right fit is what really matters.        

Today, more than a decade later, we have expanded to two stores in an effort to keep the Steppin’ Birkenstock philosophy alive. We now carry complimentary brands to Birkenstock like Dansko, Hafflinger, Birkis, and Footprints. Customer Service is what we emphasize to our staff. We realize that there are a lot of shoe stores out there. What makes us unique is that we are patient and we listen.  Over the years we have built a loyal following and for that we are grateful.
